DESCRIPTION

An early glassblower's iron pontil rod. Conical tip appears to be the type used in the 1850's to create the familiar "Iron Pontil" scar. Unusual design with removable working end that threads into the wooden handle section as shown. Comes with three different tips of varying lengths and tip size. The longest, when assembled, measures about 44" long. Rare.
