A clear quart with unusual closure. Embossed on the base: "IMPERIAL PAT APRIL 20TH 1886". Original shaped iron wire clamp and original glass lid that is embossed: "THE G.H. HAMMOND CO HAMMOND, IND". The jar is in fine shape with no damage or stains. The lid has some minor flaking. Good ground rim with very little flaking. A scarce variation of this unusual old jar.
