Closure:  Original zinc cap with impressed Shield on top and 1859 patent date, and retaining the original enameled iron liner in exceptionally good shape. The cap's wrench lug was formed by a punching out-ward from the inside. The cap is in unusually good shape compared to most. It has not been crushed nor deformed from use, nor does it have any pinholes or splits.

Condition:  normal nicking of the ground mouth
