DESCRIPTION
Size: approximately 1.5 Quarts
Color: AMBER
Closure: original matching amber glass lid and original cast iron yoke clamp with thumbscrew
Appearance: sparkling
Condition: outstanding condition with no damage, including an essentially perfect mouth
Strength of embossing: strong
Base: "4"
Age: late 1800's
Availability: Rare...only about a dozen undamaged examples are known to exist, all of which were discovered as they were about to be dumped in a landfill near Milwaukee, Wisconsin back in the 1980's. This example is one of the finest specimens known. The jars were made as a special order, by the Whitall-Tatum Co in Millville, NJ.
